1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains when and how you can get a refund for payments made to EmailLabs, operating EmailLabs("we", "us"). It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to every plan and charge on your account.
Our payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Approved refunds are issued through Paddle back to the original payment method.
2. Plans & billing
EmailLabs is priced as monthly plans, not one-time credits. You pick the plan that matches your monthly request volume and it renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- No commitment — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time; changes take effect from the next billing cycle.
- Requests over your monthly quota are billed at a small per-request overage rate shown on our pricing page.
- Taxes may apply based on your location and are handled by our payment provider.
3. Refunds on verification results
We only charge you for conclusive checks. When a verification returns a risky or undetermined result, that request is refunded back to your usage automatically — you are not billed for results we could not resolve.
These usage refunds are applied to your quota and overage, not paid out as cash, since no separate payment was taken for them.
4. Refunds on plan charges
Because a plan gives you immediate access to the service and quota for the month, monthly fees are generally non-refundable once a billing cycle has started. However, we will issue a refund in the following cases:
- Duplicate or incorrect charges — e.g. you were billed twice or charged the wrong amount.
- Prolonged service unavailability — a sustained outage that prevented you from using the service you paid for.
- Accidental renewal — a plan that renewed while unused, if you contact us promptly after the charge.
- Any refund required by the consumer-protection laws that apply to you.
Refunds are calculated on the unused portion of the affected billing period and are granted at our reasonable discretion outside the statutory cases above.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals — you keep access until the end of the current billing period, and we don't charge you again after that.
Cancelling on its own does not trigger a refund of the current month; refunds for the current period follow section 4 above.
6. How to request a refund
Email billing@emaillabs.io from the address on your account and include your account details and the transaction or invoice in question. We aim to respond within a few business days.
Approved refunds are processed through Paddle to your original payment method. The time for the funds to appear depends on your bank or card provider.
7. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — we can almost always resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Opening a chargeback without contacting us may lead to suspension of your account while the dispute is investigated.
